EMERGENCY SHELTER

Shortly after the Glenhaven Fire broke out, just before noon on October 4, the local Red Cross, led by Red Cross Coordinator Pastor Shannon Kimbell-Auth and her team of volunteers, with help from our staff and volunteers, quickly set up a temporary emergency shelter at Lucerne Alpine Senior Center for residents evacuated from Glenhaven and parts of Clearlake Oaks. Approximately 40 persons stayed at our Senior Center during the afternoon, until an overnight shelter was ready at Twin Pine Casino in Middletown.

LASC thanks Pastor Shannon Kimbell-Auth and her team of Red Cross volunteers for making the shelter happen. We also thank Shannon McGovern, Cal Water Community Affairs Specialist, and Supervisor EJ Crandell, for their offers of help.
